(TJB) is a not-for-profit corporation based in New York State. The organization was formed in 1994 and was later designated a 501(c) (3) organization.
Since 1994, Team Jamaica Bickle (TJB) has played an active role in the development and care of the athletes through its Hospitality Initiative, which has been a superb, necessary, and enriching program for the athletes. In fact, through the organization’s efforts more of them are able to travel to participate in the annual Penn Relays, thanks to the sponsorship provided, which reduces the cost to both the families and schools.
The organization also provides assistance to Diaspora organizations, such as Awesome Power Track Club, the Jamaica Basketball Association, NA., and the Jamaica Basketball Association, NA. Its founder is the current CEO, Irwine G. Clare Snr., OD. The affiliated “Team Jamaica Bickle, Philadelphia Chapter,” was simultaneously formed by Blane Stoddard who now heads the support group, “Friends of Team Jamaica Bickle,” also based in Philadelphia. TJB’s mission is embodied in the motto, ‘Our Athletes, Our Ambassadors’. It’s services extend to a delegation of approximately six hundred & fifty (650) students and coaches from Jamaica (with the largest delegation of about 500), Trinidad and Tobago St. Vincent & The Grenadines, and Grenada Bahamas.
In past years TJB has welcomed and extended its services to delegations of students and coaches from the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), Guyana and Barbados.
